A very special evening with Luna Paige, Nick Turner and Jamie Jupiter
Successful singer songwriters Luna Paige, Nick Turner and Jamie Jupiter bring their diverse skills and genres to a refreshing and unique show which is receiving standing ovations from audiences from all walks of life, languages and cultures the across country.
On the 26 May music lovers from Franschhoek can look forward to a very special evening listening to the original material written and composed by each artist through the course of their respective careers. The artists love performing together and will accompany each other on their respective songs.
After the break – the artists will play excerpts from their new show, Korreltjie Kantel which celebrates the relationship between and works of prolific writers Ingrid Jonker and Andre P Brink, giving a personal glimpse on how they worked with Jonkers’ material, how they found inspiration in the love letters and how these spine chilling and at times, playful songs came into being.
Three unexpected and distinctly different music groups come together and compose music to Ingrid Jonker poems. These poems are interwoven with dramatic and musical interpretations of the love letters that passed between André P Brink and Ingrid Jonker as published in Flame in the Snow (2015). A poignant and intimate portrayal of longing, forbidden fruit, destruction and the fearless delight of love. After a successful debut on RSG’s Radio Arts festival and performances at Woordfees and KKNK (2016), this music theatre production has been adapted even further for the stage.
With Luna Paige, Nick Turner and Jamie Jupiter.
