As South Africa’s first “Bean to Bar” chocolate makers, we pride ourselves in making everything from scratch – from sourcing and roasting our own cocoa and coffee beans, to making our own ice cream and a wide selection of confections.
A hobby that we started in our garage with machines built out of recycled home appliances, led to the discovery of the richness and diversity of single origin chocolate. Our journey soon developed into a chocolate obsession that continues to this day.
Our original factory is based on Spiced Route farm in Paarl where we offer tutored chocolate tastings and a view of our small factory through large glass windows. On the same farm we have DV Café where guests can enjoy our coffee, ice cream and cake selection.
De Villiers Chocolate Café in Franschhoek offers our very own CHOCOLATE, COFFEE and ICE CREAM all under one delicious roof. It is a world first in the sense that we make all of these ourselves using only authentic ingredients: “GOOD” in every way – GMO free, Gluten free, and free from any artificial colourants, flavourings or stabilisers.
