Explorers Club, sleeps up to 6 adults and 4 children
As the flagship property in the Explorers Club’s unique collection of places to stay, the Explorers Club has been designed with adventure in mind. Life at the Explorers Club revolves around the vast open-plan kitchen, living, dining area and enclosed veranda, with doors that pull back and open out onto a large pool and garden with mountain views.
The four ensuite bedrooms (three ensuite bedrooms, one twin loft room) lead off from this central area, with a twin room tucked ingeniously into the eaves of the original building, together sleeping up to 6 adults and 4 children (and a toddler – in a camp cot).
Built on the spot where the original railway ticket office stood in the centre of Franschhoek village, the Explorers Club, through its eclectic Africana décor, retains the atmosphere of the eternal traveller, perfectly captured by Jo Sinfield’s sentiment: “Somewhere inside all of us lurks an adventurous impulse, large or small. We hope you find it here. Start planning an escapade, a tremble over a few precipices, and mull over an idea or two with glass in hand…all in the comfort of the Explorers Club.”
