Umdiliya, meaning grapes in Xhosa, is an empowerment programme initiated by Franschhoek Wine Valley Tourist Association in 2005. The aim is to alleviate unemployment rates in the valley and at the same time create a pool of qualified employees for Franschhoek establishments to choose from.
This annual SETA accredited course consists of theoretical and practical training over 2 months concentrating on the following skills: front of house, housekeeping, waitron, wine, kitchen and, most importantly, service skills. The course is presented by the highly rated and energetic team from Let’s Sell Lobster.
