The Franschhoek Hospitality Academy students are taking over the River Café on Nelson Mandela Day – 18th July 2019 and are inviting you, our friends in Franschhoek to join in all the fun that they have planned for the evening.
“Three of our students, Aya, Ashwill and Siphokazi, have all been given the opportunity of a lifetime. A two-year bursary to continue their studies at the International College of Tourism & Management in Austria, but they need to cover their costs to get there (visas, insurances & flights). Aya, is currently employed by the River Café as a waitress and this is how this event was born. Thank you to the River Café Team for supporting Aya and her fellow Students” stated Co-Founder, Tarryn Corlett.
The Academy would like to encourage you to support these students in quest to raise R20 000 each so that they can fulfill their dreams of studying abroad and bring back to South Africa, the knowledge and skills to help our industry thrive. The rest of the Class of 2019 are in full support of their classmates and will be taking over the kitchen, bar and coffee station to practice what they have learnt this year as well as to ensure that this is a successful and fun-filled event for all.
What’s more? We will be adding “a little spot of BINGO” into the mix!
