Mike Allsop & Liesl van der Walt
Warmer weather brings more buzz to our garden. Cape honeybees are VIP residents at Babylonstoren and in spring they are hard at work foraging for pollen and nectar. Not only do they produce honey for Babel Restaurant, but they also play a key role in the garden ecosystem with pollination.
We start the day with a walk through the kitchen garden to have a look at the plants that attract bees.
During the morning our bee expert, Mike Allsopp from the Agricultural Research Council, will share some interesting facts and myths about bees and beekeeping.
After lunch we put on our beekeeping suits to inspect the hives in the garden and to harvest fresh honey.
Lunch will be enjoyed at the Greenhouse Restaurant and is included in the price. For our hotel guests, the events for the day are included in your stay – book at email@example.com
