Volksliedjies at La Motte

Kenner op die gebied van Suid-Afrikaanse kultuurgeskiedenis, professor Matilda Burden bied haar gewilde praatjie aan wat fokus op navorsing oor die Afrikaanse volksliedjie. Interessante aspekte word ondersoek, soos die pretensieloosheid en woordvaardigheid van die volksmens soos dit na vore kom in Afrikaanse volksliedjies, asook die humor wat daaruit spreek. Daar word ook gekyk na die funksie en die vorm van die volksliedjie – het die liriek van die volkslied ook ‘n bepaalde vorm soos formele poësie? Professor Burden sing self sommige van die liedjies en ander word saam met bekende sanger Pieter van der Westhuizen uitgevoer met kitaarbegeleiding.
