Franschhoek eateries excel at 2017 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards

Social media platforms went into overdrive on Sunday, 19 November during the countdown to this year’s Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards, and once again Franschhoek eateries did not disappoint. In the past only 10 of SA’s finest made it onto the prestigious list, but this year the list was expanded to the Top 20. For the 2nd year running Chris Erasmus’ Foliage Restaurant secured a spot on the much talked about list, clinching the 12th position.

Over and above this list, stellar restaurants and individuals on the South African scene also received special awards. La Petite Colombe was awarded the Eat Out Retail Capital New Restaurant of the Year, as well as the Eat Out John Psillos Award for Outstanding Contribution to Service. The latter recognition was awarded to Morne Wessels, who is the restaurant’s Front of House Manager.

These latest awards firmly secure Franschhoek’s position as one of South Africa’s favourite culinary destinations.
