Established in 2007 as a light-off event to raise awareness about climate change, Earth Hour has grown in popularity with more than 162 countries and terrorities worldwide supporting this worthy cause in a bid to preserve our planet.
Franschhoek Wine Valley and its members will be supporting this amazing project on Saturday, 28 March at 20h30 (local time) by switching off all lights and electrical equipment and we urge you to do the same.
Bring out the candles and torches and have fun making shadow puppets with the kids, or simply curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and enjoy the peace and quiet of Mother Nature. Weather permitting this would be the ideal opportunity to sit outside and admire the twinkling stars.
