Franschhoek Wine Valley hosts media as part of the Cape Winelands District Municipality Media Educational

In mid-March a group of health, lifestyle and tourism media were treated to a one-day experience in the picture perfect Franschhoek Wine Valley. This formed part of a Media Educational sponsored by the Cape Winelands District Municipality whereby relevant local tourism authorities (LTA’s) are required to showcase some of their finest offerings. Officials from the CWDM also accompanied the group in order to equip them with a better understanding of the regions.

Santé Wellness Retreat & Day Spa

Each LTA was required to select a theme for the educational, which would form the basis of the itinerary for the day’s experience, and the Franschhoek LTA opted for Health & Wellness as their theme. The itinerary included discovering some hidden gems as well as one or two popular highlights. These included a visit to Franschhoek’s Medicinal Herb Garden and to Anthonij Rupert Wyne for an informative tea tasting. After learning about delicious rooibos tea varieties and a High Tea treat, the group made their way to Terbodore Coffee to learn more about their coffee roasting process. This visit also included a coffee tasting, which proved to be a highlight. Being a Health & Wellness theme, the group were treated to luxurious spa treatments and a light lunch at the recently refurbished Santé Wellness Retreat & Day Spa, which no doubt left everyone feeling super relaxed. Before departing everyone enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Old Road Wine Co.

A busy but highly informative day learning more about Franschhoek’s world-class offerings.
