Grande Provence Introduces a new Shiraz

17 February 2012 – Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, situated in the Franschhoek Valley and home to numerous award-winning wines is proud to welcome the Grande Provence Shiraz 2008 to its collection, created by Winemaker, Jaco Marais.
The Shiraz 2008 is an elegant, medium bodied red wine, which is aged in French oak barrels for fifteen months.  The Shiraz offers a fruity taste of ripe black berries and blackcurrants along with stewed plums and a delicate white pepper flavour that infuses an aroma on the nose and palate. The finish is soft lingering and elegant.  It can be enjoyed on its own or served with venison, meat or spicy curries.
Jaco Marais, Winemaker comments: “I’m excited about this new vintage. The wine is a complex balance between fruit and vanilla flavours – a result of the wine spending fifteen months in French oak barrels. It’s deeply rewarding to release a wine that has been made with true Grande Provence winemaking passion. The Shiraz will complement the soon to be released new menu in The Restaurant created by Executive Chef, Darren Roberts.”
The Estate proudly offers guests The Owner’s Cottage, The Restaurant, The Winery, The Jonkershuis, The Gallery, Sculpture Garden and The Shop.
