Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate, situated in the Franschhoek Wine Valley and home to numerous award-winning local and international wines is proud to welcome two new signature vintage white wines to its cellar; the Sauvignon Blanc 2011 and the Chardonnay 2010, to its collection, created by famed Winemaker, Jaco Marais.
The Chardonnay 2010 is an elegant, full bodied and well-balanced white wine with outstanding fruit and wood integration. This Chardonnay offers an upfront citrus, almond and creamy aroma, complemented by vanilla and butterscotch from the well integrated wood. It can be enjoyed on its own or served with smoked fish, seafood with creamy sauces, pork dishes, or ripened soft cheeses.
The Sauvignon Blanc 2011 is a medium-bodied white wine consisting of various tropical fruit, guava, lime and ripe fig flavours followed by touches of green pepper. These aromas follow through onto the palate in the form of rich fruit flavours which are balanced by a zesty acidity. These two attributes combine to deliver a fresh, lingering savour. This Sauvignon Blanc can be enjoyed on its own or served with seafood, chicken dishes or fruity salads.
These two new wines proudly join the Estate’s signature wine collection, some of which have received prestigious accolades from various international wine competitions such as the 2011 Concours Mondial de Bruxelles wine world championship, the 2010 Austrian International Wine Awards, the 2010 Mundus Vini International Wine Awards and the 2010 Michelangelo International Wine Awards.
The Estate proudly offers guests The Owner’s Cottage, The Restaurant, The Winery, The Jonkershuis, The Gallery, Sculpture Garden and The Shop.
