Franschhoek may be well known for its superb wines and world class cuisine, but did you know that it is also home to some of the most loyal, and cutest dogs? Regarded as ‘man’s best friend’ we’ll be paying homage to these trusted furry friends, showcasing a different dog each month.
For January we’ll be featuring the Valley’s most iconic dog, Miss Molly, the Môreson Weimaraner.
Môreson is renowned for four things: wine, food, people and their animals! This love of animals extends beyond just their own. As a farm, they’ve been supporting various animal-related charities for a number of years.
Miss Molly is such a huge presence in their lives that they felt she deserved her own range of wines. Her larger than life personality, her unique quirks and her naughty nature ensure that she is a love magnet! So, when the owners developed Miss Molly – a range of wines named after their beloved silver coated, green eyed, completely captivating Weimaraner – they realised that it had the potential to help and (at the same time) increase awareness surrounding the animal-related charities they already support.
A percentage of every bottle of Miss Molly sold is donated to the SA Guide-Dogs Association for the Blind, and Animals in Distress.
Luckily the fame hasn't yet gone to Miss Molly's head. She is still the same charming mademoiselle who loves nothing more than to spend a morning sneaking into a bed uninvited, an afternoon sunning herself in the finest leather wingback chair or an evening posing for photographs.
