Lemon Marmalade Polenta Cake

For the lemon marmalade
- 2 lemons, thinly sliced
- 220g sugar
- 375ml water
For the Cake
- 200g soft butter
- 200g castor sugar
- 200g ground almonds
- 100g fine polenta
- 7.5ml baking powder
- 3 large eggs
- grated zest of 1 large lemon
For the syrup
- juice of 2 lemons
- 125g icing sugar
- double cream, to serve
