A small floristry shop in the heart of Franschhoek, Franschhoek Flowers is owned and operated by Estee Kershoff – previously an editor at Conde Nast House & Garden.
Undeniably influenced by its spectacular location amidst towering blue mountains and the budding orchards and vineyards of the South African Winelands, Franschhoek Flowers peddles a wide selection of locally-farmed and imported flowers, including many of the indigenous fynbos and protea species endemic to the region. With a focus on the plant material used, each arrangement or botanical installation highlights the natural splendor of flower and foliage, accentuating its shape, colour and texture. This translates to a natural, uncomplicated style that is sometimes minimalist in its execution and other times wonderfully abundant.
‘Our small shop is home to innovative floristry that pushes the boundaries with novel combinations and colour pairings, whilst celebrating some of the classics. For this, we draw inspiration from our surrounds to create arrangements and installations that complement – not compete with – its setting and closely follow the seasons,’ notes Estee.
In addition to the fresh cut flowers on offer, the shop also stocks an assortment of plants, as well as a stylishly curated selection of homeware, books, botanical prints and gardenelia – all handpicked by Estee to showcase some top local creative talent.
Franschhoek Flowers offers free floral consultations for events and weddings, and free delivery in Franschhoek.
