Readers paging through this month’s edition of Wine Spectator will
be presented with boundless spreads of the picturesque South African
winelands and treated to extensive reviews of the area’s restaurants and
touristic attractions. However, the all important question is “what do I
    drink?”

In reviewing more than 500 South African wines across a variety of
price points and origins, Wine Spectator’s James Molesworth singles out
the Bloem white blend for his top 20 values, scoring 88 points and retailing for US$ 10. Molesworth says the wine’s “pear skin notes frame green almond, heather and yellow apple flavors.”

The South African winelands lie at the heart of the Cape Floral
Kingdom, the smallest but most biodiverse of the world’s six floral
kingdoms. Bloem, derived from the Dutch word for “flower”, captures the
essence of this unique and dynamic ecosystem with refreshing fruit aromas,
clean, creamy flavours, and a hint of exotic spice. Bloem wines are made at
Noble Hill using a blend of fruit grown on the estate and surrounding
    coastal vineyards.

Noble Hill is a 30 hectare vineyard making wines that are juicy yet
austere, elegant, and above all unique to the place they are made. Noble
Hill is located in the Simonsberg-Paarl appellation of origin, which has
produced some of South Africa’s finest wines dating back to the late 17th
    century.

Bloem wines are available in South Africa at Makro stores
nationwide and the United States at wine shops and restaurnats in New
York and Virginia. Visit www.bloemwine.com for tasting notes and a
