The 2012 Veuve Cliquot Polo Masters upped the glamour stakes once againLeave a Comment
Cape Town and Johannesburg’s social set were out in full force this weekend at the second annual Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo at Val de Vie Estate in Cape Town.
Following the success of last year’s event, which was the champagne brand’s first foray into African polo, the 2012 Veuve Clicquot Masters once again proved to be one of the top events on the South African social calendar.
Veuve Clicqout, one of the champagne region’s most revered Maisons, sponsors some of the world’s most prestigious polo events and has a long history with the ‘sport of kings’. With over 700 celebrities, socialites and polo lovers in attendance, including Jeannie D, Jo-Ann Strauss, Roxy Louw, Ryan Botha, Natalie Becker and Elana Africa, the Veuve Clicquot Masters event has set a new polo benchmark in South Africa.
Elizabeth Arden treated female guests to an exclusive Pamper Lounge, where girls could enjoy mini makeovers, Eight Hour hand massages and experience the latest Elizabeth Arden products. The event’s official fashion partners, Viyella (menswear) and Jenni Button (womenswear) presented a dramatic fashion show on the polo field, with models showcasing their latest collections. Other brand partners for the event included Be Premiere Hair, who offered a Mobile Hair Bar for ladies and Aston Martin – the official automobile partner once again this year. Guests were also entertained by SA band GoodLuck and a game of traditional French Pètanque.
A perfect day of polo and fun in the Winelands was ended with the official after party, hosted by Equus Lounge, giving guests the opportunity to continue their celebrations into the night.
