It’s All About Saving The Dates In 2020Leave a Comment
It’s a brand-new year, and with it we welcome so many exciting things. New beginnings, making new memories as well as planning for the year ahead. Although the Franschhoek Wine Valley is regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost wine producing regions as well as the country’s Culinary Capital, we are also home to a variety of amazing offerings. Namely our lifestyle festivals. Allowing everyone to recover from the madness of the ‘silly season’, January is usually a breather from our busy events calendar, but then in February we take things up a notch with our popular Franschhoek Summer Wines.
Don’t miss out on this bespoke event which takes place on Saturday, 1 February at the splendid Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards. Dress elegantly in your finest Summer inspired white outfit as you sip your way through the Vigneron’s line up of seasonal wines, which include white, rosé, Méthode Cap Classique and lighter styled red varietals. Chef Pieter de Jager and his team will be working their culinary magic in the kitchen to prepare delicious eats to enjoy with your wine. Relax on the sprawling lawn or in the comfort of the enclosed patio area of the venue. Live music add the final touches to what promises to be an unforgettable day out in the Franschhoek Wine Valley.
The entrance fee is R295 per person and we advise pre-booking via www.webtickets.co.za as tickets are limited. The cost includes entry, a complimentary tasting glass, tastings of the wines showcased as well as discount voucher to be used for the purchase of any show wines on the day.
If you are unable to join us at this event be sure to save the date for some of other festivals planned for 2020. These include the Franschhoek Literary Festival (15 – 17 May), Franschhoek Bastille Festival (11 and 12 July), Franschhoek Uncorked (12 and 13 September), Art Franschhoek (24 and 25 October) and Franschhoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival (5 and 6 December), to name but a few. Visit our website for a full line up of events planned for the year.
Not only is Franschhoek a haven for fabulous festivals, but it’s where you want to be for the ultimate in winelands destinations. Should you find yourself in the valley over a weekend during January, February and March be sure to take advantage of our Summer Season Shopping . On the last Friday of these months most of the retail outlets situated along Main Road will stay open until 8pm. The perfect kickstart to a weekend getaway.
