Taste the valley’s exceptional wines at Franschhoek Summer Wines
This weekend on Saturday 31st March an exceptional new wine event will be hosted at Leopard’s Leap Vineyards in the picturesque Franschhoek Wine Valley. Franschhoek Summer Wines will present 31 Vignerons de Franschhoek members from the valley, who will each be showcasing one of their top summer wines for tasting between 12pm and 5pm. This means that visitors can look forward to tasting the best quality white wines, rosé’s and bubblies from the area all available in one central location.
Asking Franschhoek Wine Valley CEO, Jenny Prinsloo, why this new event was designed, she replied: “We realised that there is a need for a wine event in Franschhoek that is small and intimate that can showcase the best Franschhoek’s wineries have on offer. It is aimed at attracting visitors with a special interest in wine, sommeliers, media and people in the wine trade by giving them an opportunity to taste these quality wines.”
Keeping in line with the theme of gourmet and wine, Franschhoek Summer Wines has also teamed up with celebrity chef Liam Tomlin, who will be presenting cooking demonstrations throughout the afternoon. Visitors can attend a top class demo to learn how to master the art of making the perfect risotto, duck confit or pork belly.
Tickets to this not-to-be-missed event are available online at www.webtickets.co.za and cost R180 per person. Cooking demonstrations can also be booked online at an additional cost of R110 per person per demonstration. Online booking is essential as tickets are limited to 350 only, and selling fast.
