The Pearl in the Mantis Collection
Mantis has built its collection of more than 70 unique destinations by always finding that one exceptional setting—and that’s why they have chosen Pearl Valley Golf & Country Estate as the home for their latest hotel.
This was confirmed today by Mantis Founder and Chairman Adrian Gardiner at the launch of Pearl Valley Hotel. “This will be the largest hotel in the region,” he said. “With 80 rooms we can cater for larger events, but remain small enough to provide the quality service and personal attention for which Mantis and Pearl Valley are renowned.
Situated on the prestigious estate, the five-star hotel will further enhance Pearl Valley’s on-going Master Plan to provide an environment in which you can live, play, and relax.
Pearl Valley Golf & Country Estate residents enjoy a variety of amenities within a vibrant, safe community. They have all the benefits of secure country living yet are close to excellent local schools and central Cape Town. Plus, they are at the heart of three of the greatest Cape wineland routes: Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek. And, of course, it is home to the award winning Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, opened in 2003 by Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player, and was home to the South African Open from 2007 to 2009.
The Pearl Valley Hotel forms an important component of this offering and will comprise 10 freestanding double-story buildings, each offering expansive views across the Berg River valley and the surrounding Simonsberg Mountains. Mr Gardiner pointed out that although this was a five-star development, “the pricing of the rooms, both for an investor and visitor are competitively pitched”.
Pearl Valley Managing Director Rory Roriston said the hotel added significant value to the estate. “We are particularly pleased that the Mantis Group has come on board,” he said. “The brand is internationally recognised for its dedication to perfection in the hospitality field.”
The suites on offer—starting from R1 299 000—will be fully furnished single or double suites, all beautifully rendered by international design house MI Designs. The décor marries comfort with beauty and functionality with style to create a classic product.
Suite owners will have access to the golf course, Spa and gym, swimming pools, tennis and boule courts, the equestrian centre, a golf driving range, putting green and chipping practise areas. They have full use of the parks and children's play areas as well as the extensive hiking and biking trails.
This premium investment opportunity will offer owners a number of value-added benefits, including no owner costs outside of the initial investment, 30 days annual usage rights, membership to the Pearl Valley Golf & Country Estate and exclusive access to specials at other Mantis operated hotels.
Owners will benefit from capital appreciation and earnings benefits in the form of the potential revenue and profits earned by the operating hotel, with all profits shared by room owners. All levies, rates and taxes, insurances, and upkeep will be covered under the rental pool agreement.
In addition, an adjacent conference centre will be built as part of the development plan ensuring a product that captures both the leisure and business sectors of the market.
Mr Gardiner said that the proposed development endorsed Pearl Valley as a complete destination and provided Mantis with a perfect fit. “Pearl Valley is a world-class destination and this Mantis branded Hotel would complement both brands and our existing portfolio,” he said, adding, “Mantis has been involved with successful hotel/golf developments in the past, such as Steenberg.
“At Mantis we look to inspire our clients by the uniqueness of our location and offering, which is what the Pearl Valley Hotel will achieve with its proximity to the Winelands—the must-see destination of the Cape Town precinct and beyond.”
