The Garden Spa at Babylonstoren

Like everything else at Babylonstoren, the Garden Spa is inextricably linked to the garden and the everchanging seasons. We like to think of it as a living spa, set within a forest of bamboo with tranquil greenery and myriad ‘leiwater’ channels to set the tone. Some of our traditional treatment rooms are housed in our pavilion constructed of bamboo, which comprises a steam room, sauna, heated jet pool, a cold plunge pool, our hammam and a gym.

As Babylonstoren is a heritage site, conservation rules called for innovation when creating additional treatment areas. Inspired by our garden, and our fascination with building with bamboo, we have created more room for rejuvenation with living walls of reed and bamboo that have grown into wonderfully private outdoor areas. Bamboo walkways now lead you to the Beach, an oval area encircled with bamboo, right next to the farm dam, that we have filled with beach sand to create a meditative space. Perfect for relaxing, reading and listening to the birds. Similarly, our new bamboo treatment area encircled in bamboo is an exclusive-use pod enclosed in glass, affording absolute privacy for this most invigorating and de-stressing of massages.

Another quintessential Garden Spa experience is the private hammam water ritual that takes place in our beautiful, purpose-built marble hammam. Choose between a full-hour water ritual with a traditional scrub, dynamic stretching and massage, or the traditional soap treatment for two that consists of a traditional scrub, soap wash and massage. Another option is the intensive Babylonstoren honey and salt scrub that stimulates blood circulation and encourages cell renewal.

And, of course, we also have a wonderful selection of classic treatments to be enjoyed in our light and spacious spa rooms. From hydrating body wraps to bespoke facials and deluxe pedicures, our spa menu will cater to your every need.
