BEST VIEWS OVER THE VALLEY
Roca Restaurant at Dieu Donne
Enjoy one of the best views over the Franschhoek village and valley from Roca Restaurant at Dieu Donne. Watching the sun set in the distance while you indulge in a delicious meal is one of the best ways to spend an evening in Franschhoek.
Open for lunch and dinner Wednesday to Saturdays, except on Sundays they only do lunch.
La Petite Ferme
The view from La Petite Ferme in the late afternoon is incredible as the sun sets behind the Berg River dam area and mountains. Expect scrumptious seasonal dishes and a great selection of wines from the area.
They are currently open on weekends for lunch (12h00 to 15h00) and dinner (18h00 to 21h00). During the weekdays they are open for inhouse guests only.
MIKO at Mont Rochelle and the Country Kitchen at Mont Rochelle
Situated closely together both Miko and the Country Kitchen at Mont Rochelle boasts lovely views over the Franschhoek village and valley in the distance. The Country Kitchen which joins up to their wine cellar, is an ideal place for a delicious lunch and a wine tasting. Or if you’re after something a little more formal, MIKO is their flagship restaurant boasting a prime location, with impeccable 180-degree views over the Franschhoek valley and surrounding vineyards and mountains.
The Country Kitchen is open on weekends for lunch (Fri, Sat & Sun, 12h00 to 17h00), dinner (Fri & Sat 17h00 to 20h00) and picnics (12h00 to 17h00).
MIKO is open for breakfast (Fri, Sat & Sun 7h00 to 10h30), snacks, light bites (Fri & Sat 11h00 to 20h30) and drinks on weekends only (Fri & Sat until 22h00).
Anemos Deck & Old Road Wine Co. Restaurant
Sip sundowners on the deck with a view of the Franschhoek Mountains while enjoying delicious contemporary cuisine under the creative watch of Chef Reimond van der Walt. Situated in the beautifully revamped original cellar of the Manor House, the focus at The Werf Restaurant is on presenting contemporary farm-to-table dining using the best available local, seasonal and ethically-sourced ingredients. The Chefs Warehouse at Maison
Under the guidance of Liam Tomlin, dynamic young chef David Schneider uses fresh ingredients, based on seasonal availability, to create a global tapas inspired menu that incorporates a world of different flavours in one, multi-course meal. Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards
Enjoy a family-style meal at your table at the Rotisserie Restaurant. You can choose between seating in their spacious dining room or on the stoep and in good weather, even outside. Orangerie restaurant at le Lude

Set on the original site of Franschhoek’s first parfumerie, adjacent to the luxurious Franschhoek Country House & Villas, the Monneaux Restaurant is a Cape culinary classic. With new, young-gun chef Calvin Metior at the helm, an exciting evolution is underway. Monneaux Restaurant’s variety of beautiful seating areas lend themselves seamlessly to suit all preferences. The outdoor fountain terrace, beneath the dappled shade of a spreading pepper tree, is ideal for lazy summer lunches and sundowners, and al fresco dinners beneath twinkling fairy lights on balmy evenings. Paulina’s restaurant at Rickety Bridge
Take a seat overlooking the Rickety Bridge vineyards. Sip a glassful of crisp estate wine and enjoy a delicious lunch while drinking in the splendour of the magnificent surroundings. The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto decks with views over the vineyards and mountains. Umbrellas and a Bedouin tent provide cover and shade.

Greenhouse restaurant at Babylonstoren
At the rear of the garden, tucked away between the oak trees, you will find the Greenhouse at Babylonstoren. All their food is served picnic-style in wooden crates with the preserves, jams and salads served in weck jars, while fresh bread from their wood-fired oven comes wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white Babylonstoren paper.

Pierneef à la Motte
Still celebrating South Africa’s culinary heritage, Pierneef à La Motte has a new and more relaxed format with an à la carte menu treating guests to comfort food and hearty favourites with a modern interpretation. Enjoy the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, the quiet of the farm and vineyards, the beautiful gardens as well as the spacious and secure environment of the Restaurant.
Open for à la carte lunch from Friday to Sunday (from 12h00) and light refreshments served in the garden from Wednesday to Sunday (09h00 to 17h00).
Bringing the latest café experience to Franschhoek, the focus is on serving excellent coffee and interesting menu options and specials, all set back in a laid-back café environment. Terbodere Café is situated on the main road just before you reach Franschhoek. You will find Terbodore Coffee Roasters beside it, where the intoxicating aromas of freshly roasted coffee beans can be appreciated.
