Franschhoek is located within one of the most breathtaking parts of the Western Cape. The mountains in this area form a natural valley leading into the village. Roca Restaurant at Dieu Donne

Enjoy one of the best views over the Franschhoek village and valley from Roca Restaurant at Dieu Donne. Watching the sun set in the distance while you indulge in a delicious meal is one of the best ways to spend an evening in Franschhoek.

La Petite Ferme

The view from La Petite Ferme in the late afternoon is incredible as the sun sets behind the Berg River dam area and mountains. Expect scrumptious seasonal dishes and a great selection of wines from the area.

MIKO at Mont Rochelle and the Country Kitchen at Mont Rochelle

Situated closely together both Miko and the Country Kitchen at Mont Rochelle boasts lovely views over the Franschhoek village and valley in the distance. The Country Kitchen which joins up to their wine cellar, is an ideal place for a delicious lunch and a wine tasting. Or if you’re after something a little more formal, MIKO is their flagship restaurant boasting a prime location, with impeccable 180-degree views over the Franschhoek valley and surrounding vineyards and mountains.

Set on the original site of Franschhoek’s first parfumerie, adjacent to the luxurious Franschhoek Country House & Villas, the Monneaux Restaurant is a Cape culinary classic. With new, young-gun chef Calvin Metior at the helm, an exciting evolution is underway. Monneaux Restaurant’s variety of beautiful seating areas lend themselves seamlessly to suit all preferences. The outdoor fountain terrace, beneath the dappled shade of a spreading pepper tree, is ideal for lazy summer lunches and sundowners, and al fresco dinners beneath twinkling fairy lights on balmy evenings. Paulina’s restaurant at Rickety Bridge

Take a seat overlooking the Rickety Bridge vineyards. Sip a glassful of crisp estate wine and enjoy a delicious lunch while drinking in the splendour of the magnificent surroundings. The restaurant spills out from a cosy thatched area onto decks with views over the vineyards and mountains. Umbrellas and a Bedouin tent provide cover and shade.

Greenhouse restaurant at Babylonstoren

At the rear of the garden, tucked away between the oak trees, you will find the Greenhouse at Babylonstoren. All their food is served picnic-style in wooden crates with the preserves, jams and salads served in weck jars, while fresh bread from their wood-fired oven comes wrapped in the iconic blue-and-white Babylonstoren paper.

Pierneef à la Motte

Still celebrating South Africa’s culinary heritage, Pierneef à La Motte has a new and more relaxed format with an à la carte menu treating guests to comfort food and hearty favourites with a modern interpretation. Enjoy the beautiful Franschhoek Valley, the quiet of the farm and vineyards, the beautiful gardens as well as the spacious and secure environment of the Restaurant.

Terbodore Cafè

Bringing the latest café experience to Franschhoek, the focus is on serving excellent coffee and interesting menu options and specials, all set back in a laid-back café environment. Terbodere Café is situated on the main road just before you reach Franschhoek. You will find Terbodore Coffee Roasters beside it, where the intoxicating aromas of freshly roasted coffee beans can be appreciated. They have seating on a deck that opens out onto a tranquil garden with beautiful willow and eucalyptus trees.
