Terre Paisible – meaning Peaceful Land – is a special place to be discovered in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley in South Africa.
With awe-inspiring views of the Simonsberg mountains – the land here is a source of energy and revitalisation – a place to recharge and re-set – where a sense of abundance and peace envelop you. Here, this synergy with nature is captured in everything we grow and everything we do.
The combination of our fertile soils, maturity of our vines and olive orchards are treasures that we carefully nurture. This gives us complexity and character that can only be achieved with patience, time and careful tending. A tranquil retreat which is home to a world-class medical aesthetic spa where you can rejuvenate and restore.

Our Wines
Terre Paisible Range
As with any true luxury – a great wine can only be crafted when the very essence of it is of the greatest quality. Our Terre Paisible wine range consists of small-batch vintages celebrating terroir and character, allowing our winemaker to create wines which are truly a work of passion and have distinction.

We carefully select our grapes from our own vineyards as well as other carefully selected vines – where terroir showcases varietal excellence. This allows our winemaker, Adam Mason, to use his years of expertise, patience, and craftsmanship in each vintage to craft wines to be experienced and appreciated.
Terre Paisible estate has a rare block of registered Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc. These low yielding 37-year-old untrellised old vines are registered with the Old Vine Project and are
testimony to our commitment to treasuring our vineyards.

Vigne d’Or Range
At Terre Paisible we celebrate the abundance and synergy with nature on the farm. An authentic approach seeking only to enhance and elevate that which is already given naturally. For this reason – our label for the Vigne d’Or range depicts this simple philosophy – a cross-section of a grape that represents that which lies within – the result of passion, skill and time to capture the natural complexity and beauty of the grapes.

Vigne d’Or – Golden Vine – is the original name of our farm and echoes our philosophy to craft distinctive wines from treasured vines. The wines in this range are crafted to truly celebrate our home, Franschhoek, particularly in our Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc which are harvested from our estate.
Vigne d’Or wine are made by renowned winemaker Adam Mason. These wines exhibit his minimalist winemaking approach – intriguingly nuanced wines which showcase their terroir.

Extra Virgin Olive Oils
Our olives are estate grown, hand-picked and cold-pressed to preserve their natural goodness. We grow 5 types of olives: Favolosa, Frantoio, Leccino, Coratina and Delicata – each of which have their own unique flavour.

Our oils are:
• 100% cold-pressed & produced using small scale practices
• Locally grown in Franschhoek – hand-harvested & bottled locally
• Free from preservatives & additives & rich in antioxidants. Naturally gluten-free
• Suitable for vegans & vegetarians
• No palm oil & no canola oil. GMO-free

By carefully blending & combining these flavours we have crafted 3 distinct styles – Délicate, Modérée (medium) and Aromatique.
Terre Paisible Aromatique Extra Virgin Olive Oil Our estate Signature blend – is full-bodied and has distinctive flavours of green olives, ripe tomato and ripe olive with a rich, peppery finish. Decadent when drizzled over mature hard cheeses or bruschetta, its layered flavours mean it can be used on its own for dipping fresh baked bread in, or to enhance the flavours in your signature dish.

Terre Paisible Modérée Extra Virgin Olive Oil – is our moderately aromatic oil, cold-pressed and crafted to enhance grilled meats and fish. It has notes of green olive, olive leaf, artichoke, almonds, herbs and a mild peppery finish. The subtle spiciness of this oil will enhance roasted vegetables and seafood dishes.
Terre Paisible Délicate Extra Virgin Olive Oil is our delicate oil, cold-pressed and crafted for sautéing, cooking and baking. It has hints of green tomatoes, herbs, artichokes and a restrained pepperiness on the finish. A perfect oil for making cheesy omelettes or salad dressings.

Our range of artisanal Extra Virgin Olive Oils are rich in antioxidants and contain no additives or preservatives. Like our range of distinctive boutique premium wines, our oils are crafted to celebrate the natural excellence of our valley.
